Three main temperature scales are used around the world: Celsius (used in the UK and most countries), Fahrenheit (used in the United States), and Kelvin (used in science). Understanding how to convert between them is useful for travel, cooking, and scientific work.
The Conversion Formulas
Celsius to Fahrenheit: (°C × 9/5) + 32 = °F. For example, 20°C = 68°F. Fahrenheit to Celsius: (°F — 32) × 5/9 = °C. For example, 68°F = 20°C. Celsius to Kelvin: °C + 273.15 = K. Fahrenheit to Kelvin: (°F — 32) × 5/9 + 273.15 = K.
